Weekend Sunshine

Hi friends! How was your weekend? Did you enjoy the weather? It was awesome here in the Northeast! This weekend was jam packed with fun activities that I tried to balance off with some movement and clean eats. Let's just get right to the sunniest moments, shall we?

Perfect post-workout smoothie bowl filled with a plethora of super foods. To make sure these bowls don't turn into calorie-bombs, simply measure the toppings. (I used 1 tsp each of hemp seeds, AB, coconut, and cacao. (Also, don't you love these patterned pants from New Balance!?)

Mandy came into town for the day on Friday and we essentially bar-hopped and gab, gab, gabbed for most of the day ☺️. These were our Moscow mules from Coppersmiths.

I kicked off Saturday morning with a fun Bags & Beats class at Everybody Fights!Β

image.jpg

Then I picked up some new EBF swag to be like the cool kids πŸ‘πŸΌΒ

I was one lucky girl because I got to spend my evening with Rachael AND Kim. We caught up on life for a solid 5 hours and it was fantastic.Β

The charcuterie board from Capo is delightful.Β

Sunday temps in the 60's made for a lovely little run around Castle Island.Β

image.jpg

We swung by my parent's house for a quick dinner and my mom and I had prosecco in these pretty little 1920's glasses

image.jpg

And finally, meal prep! I took the leftover curry sauce from the Thai food we had for dinner, added more chicken and veggies and made a baked curry dish for the week. Plus, some sweet potatoes because they're my fav.Β

I hope you all have a FAB week!

Do you like Thai food? Have any go-to Thai takeout places in Soutbie?

Friday Favs

Good morning and Happy Friday! I hope you all had a successful and productive week. Mine was pretty fantastic since it included a few fun work meetings (fun work meetings? yes!) and a visit from Kim and baby Lyla on Tuesday. I'm off today for working Sunday so I'm getting some more BoxFiit Certification modules done (more on this later) and then Mandy is coming to Boston for the day - yay! I hope you all have a fun weekend filled with relaxation, SUNSHINE, outdoor activities, laughter, and a little movement.

Here are my favs of the week:

image.jpg

{Running Castle Island this week has been amazing. That ocean air heals the soul, I'll tell ya!}

image.jpg

{Rob came home with these for me on Wednesday night. He's a keeper! (I make him hide them every night because when it comes to anything Swedish Fish related - I have zero self control)}

image.jpg

{I see green! Spring is coming :)}

image.jpg

{Burtons Grill offers seared tuna as a protein add-on for salads. I wish every restaurant did this. Healthy and Yummy!}

image.jpg

{Last night, the bartender at Capo liked my pineapple phone case so much that he made Rob & I a special drink in a copper pineapple. Pineapples are a sign of hospitality -- how hospitable of him!}

Enjoy the weekend! xo

Weekly Bites #14 (Formerly "Bits & Bites")

Hello Hello! I hope every single one of you living in the Northeast have at least 10 minutes to spare today to get outside. 60-70 degree weather? Yes, please!

Sooo it seems as though the "Bits & Bites" series is pretty popular on FFF so I've decided to make it a weekly post. Sound good? I've also given it a name change because it doesn't make sense anymore since it's evolution from the first few posts. Plus, since I talked about getting a better handle on my GERD diet - I figured I'd keep myself honest via FFF. Food labeled (GA is 'gerd approved' - food labeled NGA is not).

Now... let's get to it!

image.jpg

Friday Night Dinner: Tuna melts made with celery, capers, mustard, mayo, salt, & pepper served with baked sweet potato "fries". (GA except for the ketchup)

image.jpg

Breakfast: Green Smoothie - Green juice, SFH coconut protein powder, mangoes, 1 tsp almond butter,  and water topped with granola and coconut butter. (GA)

image.jpg

Meal Prep: Hash Brown Breakfast Bake This is so delicious and will be remade with either sweet potato zoodles or the Alexa version of sweet potato tater tots (will make it a bit healthier). (NGA)

Breakfast: Strawberry/Mango Smoothie made with the same coconut SFH fuel. (GA)

image.jpg

Meal prep for lunches: Salads, quinoa, and HB eggs. (Peppers not really GA but, I'm learning they don't really bother me at all in small amounts)

image.jpg

Lunch: Spinach, 1/3 cup of roasted chickpeas, cucumbers and Cindy's fig dressing. (GA)

image.jpg

Dinner: Trader Joe's veggie burger (sneaky delicious) with fried egg, avo, and roasted sweet potatoes. (GA)

image.jpg

Lunch: Spinach salad, chickpeas, avocado, and a tbs of hummus. Mix this all together and the hummus works as a dressing... AND IT'S DELICIOUS.  (GA)

image.jpg

Saturday AM Breakfast: Discovering that I can make delicious pancakes from protein powder is a total, friggin', game-changer. Message me or comment below for recipe. (GA)

image.jpg

Saturday post-workout lunch: GMO-free corn tortillas with hummus, roasted chickpeas, sauteed spinach, and avocado. (yes, this combo is delectable and yes I meal prepped roasted chickpeas last week :)) (GA except for all that crushed red pepper - whoops)

image.jpg

Sunday dinner: I meal prepped roasted chicken and sweet potatoes on Sunday night. Here it is served with a side of brown jasmine rice. (GA)

image.jpg

Post workout snack (every damn day): Hummus and carrots. (GA)

image.jpg

Dinner: Noodle bowl made with lots of ginger, a little garlic, and liquid aminos (or soy sauce). (GA besides peppers and the garlic)

Welp, now I'm hungry. Please let me know in the comments below --
Do you want more of these "Weekly Bites" posts? Are they helpful?!

Have an awesome day! xo

*Please note: The GERD diet is tricky and since no two humans are alike, many people have different foods that make them symptomatic. That being said, most docs give a sheet of approved/not-approved foods and the notations I make above pretty much follow that. Go see your doc if you have symptoms, questions, concerns, etc. I'm just sharing my experience and meals, not a how-to guide. :)
